Michel Akkermans

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Michel is chairman of the board of NGDATA. He is a serial entrepreneur, private investor, advisor and board member, serving on the boards of public and private companies and private equity funds. He was co-founder, chairman and CEO of Clear2Pay, a finance technology company focused on global payment solutions, before it was acquired by FIS (Nasdaq: FIS) in 2014. Before Clear2Pay, Michel was founder, CEO and chairman of FICS, a fintech company specialized in online banking and compliance reporting. In 1999, FICS merged with Security First Technologies, creating the leader in Internet banking – S1 Corporation (Nasdaq: SONE), with Michel as its chairman. He also was executive chairman of Data4S, a data analytics specialist, focusing on anti-money laundering applications. The company got acquired in 2004. Michel holds a M.Sc. in electronic engineering and computer sciences and a degree in economics and finance from the University of Leuven in Belgium. He is multi-lingual and operates worldwide.

Doug Gross

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Doug is the Chief Executive Officer at NGDATA and brings more than 30 years of international experience. Before joining NGDATA, Doug was Executive Director of Corporate Banking Solutions at financial services technology specialist, FIS Global. Prior to this, Doug was CEO of payments technology firm, Clear2Pay America, which was bought by FIS Global in 2014. He also held senior positions with S1, Unisys and HSBC.

Katrin Geyskens

PARTNER/ICT – DIGITAL HEALTHCARE AND BIG DATA

Ms Katrin Geyskens is a partner at Capricorn Venture Partners (www.capricorn.be) where she is driving the Capricorn ICT Fund focusing on venture investments in the areas of Digital Healthcare and Big Data. Recent investments include NGDATA, Right Brain Interface and Cartagenia. Katrin joined Capricorn Venture Partners through its merger with Quest Management in January 2012. At Quest, she was since 2001 responsible for venture investments in ICT companies and 3rd party venture funds, investing out of Quest for Growth (quoted on Euronext Brussels, ticker: QFG). Before this, Katrin acquired extensive experience in banking and management consulting at CERA Bank (now KBC), Merrill Lynch (now BofA) and A.T.Kearney. She currently serves as Chairman Elect for the Belgian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association. Katrin holds a Master of Business Economics: Business Engineering degree from KU Leuven and an MBA of the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.

Dominique Illien

Dominique is long standing manager in the IT services and software world with key managements positions held in Cap Gemini as Group Vice President, Atos as Group COO and SopraSteria as Managing Director. He now is the CEO of ELS, European leader in digital legal tax and regulatory publishing encompassing 8 countries, over 2000 employees and over 400 MEuros. He is also Chairman of Rocket Lawyer Europe (a LegalTech company), Board Member of ESCP Europe, Investment Committee member of Parvilla II (a PE fund) and Treasurer of the French Publishing association (SNE). Previously, Dominique has been an independent Board member of Clear2pay. Dominique earned an MBA of ESCP Europe and a CPA graduation. Dominique is also a Knight of the French Legion of Honour.

Jürgen Ingels

FOUNDER AND MANAGING PARTNER SMARTFIN CAPITAL

Jürgen is the founder and Managing Partner of SmartFin Capital. Previously, he was founder and CFO of Clear2Pay (EU, 2000), a global solutions provider for payment systems to banks. Clear2Pay was purchased by FIS. Before founding Clear2Pay, Jürgen worked as Senior Investment Manager with Dexia Ventures, the venture capital division of Dexia Bank. He is currently member of the board at Itineris, Ribrain, Citymesh and Enqio, which focuses on Big Data and business intelligence consulting. Jürgen is also a member of the investment committee of Vinnof (PMV) and Sniper Investments. He holds a degree in political and social sciences, and an MBA from the University of Antwerp. He also has a postgraduate degree in corporate finance.

Manfred Krikke

HPE GROWTH CAPITAL

Manfred Krikke is a partner of HPE and has over 20 years of investment banking, operating and private equity investment experience in the technology sector.  He spent 16 years working in the US and has a strong Silicon Valley network. Manfred is responsible for the firm’s investment processes and manages the investment team. Prior to joining HPE, Manfred was a technology investment banker at Montgomery Securities and a partner at TPG Capital, where he focused on technology growth investments. As an entrepreneur, Manfred was involved in growing a software company from its inception to a successful IPO on the Nasdaq. Manfred was further involved in over 30 transactions raising over $2 bln in growth capital for technology companies, including 15 IPOs such as Siebel Systems, Real Networks, Open Text, and Raptor Systems. Manfred earned a master’s degree in Business Economics from the Vrije University in Amsterdam.  He is currently a guest lecturer on the topic of private equity at the post-doctorate Investment Management program at the VU School of Finance.  He speaks English, Dutch, Italian, German and (some) French.  Manfred resides in the Netherlands with his wife, Erin, and his 3 children.

Luc Maruenda

PARTNER, VENTURE CAPITAL, IDINVEST PARTNERS

Luc is the Partner of Venture Capital at Idinvest Partners, and focuses on information technology and services industries. Prior to joining Idinvest, Luc took part in the launch of the National Investor private equity program in Abu Dhabi (UAE), and served as investment director in the offset team of Giat Industries (Nexter Group) in Abu Dhabi. Previously, Luc was the CFO of Webcorp, and worked as audit manager at Cabinet Constantin. Luc serves as a board member for Crocus Technology, Groupe Bernard Julhiet, and Meilleure Gestion. Other investments include Cosmosbay (acquired by Solucom), Lea (acquired by HF), and Sefas Innovation (acquired by Docapost). Luc holds a Master’s degree in accounting, finance, and business law from Nantes University.
